Dear fellow Taiwanese students:
Great News! A totally new, young and energetic Taiwanese student
association is now open for business! It's called the ------
Taiwanese Students Association in the U.K. (TSAUK) !!!
Initiated by a group of young, Taiwan-loving students, it has no
tie with any government or organisations. And we need YOUR support!
Why did we initiate such an organisation? Because we feel that most
of us, being students from Taiwan, know too little about our homeland.
Many of us don't know much about its history, can't sing its folk
songs; some even can't speak their grandparents' language anymore.
" What is 228 ? " " Chia-Yi and Yuin-Lin, which is on the north? "
" The female population was once below 5% in Taiwan?! "
The aim of TSAUK is very simple: to try and find out the answers to
these questions together. By organising discussions, films and social
events, the TSAUK committee hopes that all of us can make new friends,
and together we can discover more about the unique history and culture
of our homeland and show our wholehearted love for Taiwan.
We sincerely hope to see you in one of our future events. Best wishes
for a most joyful year.
Yours faithfully,
TSAUK committee
