Subject: The Death of a woman-right advocate

Dear friends,
   I am completely frustrated and upset about the death of Peng,
Wang-Ju, a long time woman-right advocate who was confirmed been
murdered by raping and stabbing.
   It is not surprised if She is not an important figure of DPP
woman-development chapter. Violence and man chauvinism have been
prevailed in our typical life. Under the leadship of KMT, where
its regime is also a criminal one, Taiwanese has become a violent
species. Street fightings, murders, arson for insane reasons,
corruption have indicated ROC stands for Republic of Crime. The
government seemingly cannot do anything effectively to improve
the embarrassment.
    For a social-movement participant, life is more likely
threatened by gangsters employed by opponent. In a recent public
hearing of "Pin-Nan" development plan, the pro-side made use
of a bunch of bundit to beat up the con-side people in public,
and in front of police. In the past years, as a environment-
protection participant, I received several menaces too, like
"we have recorded your plate number, we konw your family address,
we know where you work... threats from gangsters. I had never
taken these nuisance seriously but they are indeed most upsetting.
Peng's accident let us feel we cannot take it anymore. While
government cannot protect us, we have to something in our own.
If we cannot stand up to fight against the crime, the nation we
are building would be catastropic.
