Dear Madam/Sir:
 
   I thank you for your informative site. I am from Fengyuan,
but I left Taiwan when I was 3.  I read Formosa Betrayed at the
suggestion of a friend and it aroused such great anger in me that
I sought to have it published on the internet.  Since then, two
other books from the Taiwan Library (Taiwan Publishing Co) will
be published on the internet (A Taste of Freedom is already
available and Formosa Calling will be available shortly).  The
recent elections were disappointing indeed.  It was certainly
intimidation and lack of knowledge which were working for the
KMT. I notice this from the attitude of most new immigrants from
Taiwan. This past summer, I and a friend waged a war of words in
the newspaper with the local Chinese community (including some
Chinese from Taiwan) regarding what the Taiwan situation really
involves.  Only one other Taiwanese (Dr Michael Tai) stood up to
defend our position. I learn much from your English language
articles.  I cannot read Chinese characters.  Thank you again,
I hope for my homeland everyday.
